It seems that the RIAA is beginning to pull themselves together. They're offering a p2p service called Qtrax that lets you download any song in their catalog for free. Maybe they noticed the success of Radiohead's "In Rainbows"? Unfortunately, this service is crippled by DRM, but it seems like they're planning to allow fairly wide compatibility.
